School Meals

Eating together is an important part of the school day. In the Nursery, children are provided with the school lunch which they eat in their own classroom, along with their teachers - this is an important part of their education, as they learn about food, and nutrition, and eating properly. From Reception onwards, children eat together in the canteen, again learning to eat politely, talk and enjoy their food. Teachers and assistants eat with them, and it is chance to enjoy time together outside the classroom context.

The school provides meals four days per week. On Friday, when the school day finishes at 12.30pm no meal is provided. The menus for the food served in the canteen reflect the local context, with a British emphasis. The menus are rotated over four weeks, and vary with season. An example can be downloaded here.

If your child has special dietary needs, or allergies, please make sure the school is aware of this. We will do our best to accommodate dietary needs, if we are unable to meet your child's particular needs, we will discuss how your child can participate best in school lunchtimes with you.

We are a NUT-FREE school which means that we do not allow any form of nuts to be brought to the school, distributed or eaten. This rule must be observed strictly so as to avoid any unpleasant allergic reaction.
